Our amazing team at our Sugarhouse nightclub is celebrating after coming third in the national Best Bar None awards and entering the scheme's prestigious '100% Club'.

Best Bar None is a national accreditation scheme aimed at promoting responsible management and operation of alcohol licensed premises.

At last night's Best Bar None NUS Awards, the union-run venue was awarded third place in the overall awards and gained special recognition for gaining a perfect score of 100% against the awards criteria during the assessment and judging process.

100% Club membership is awarded to venues that show 'exemplary standards with regards to student and customer safety and comfort in their licensed spaces'.

Union Vice-President (Union Development) Matty Robinson said: "We came third across the country in the Best Bar None awards for all the amazing work we do across the board on things like student welfare to drinks prices and service! Amazing achievement - couldn’t be prouder of Team Sugar!"
