5 reasons you should run for JCR
JCR. Love them or hate them it’s hard to argue that the JCR don’t take a central role in college life, planning many of the biggest events throughout the year. With nominations opening Monday week 6 we thought we’d tell give you 5 reasons why you should run for County JCR 2019.
1. Experience
Although you go to a top ten university you still want to make yourself stand out when it comes time to apply for jobs. Not many students can say they’ve led a team of 14 officers, managed a budget in the tens of thousands of pounds, or planned events for over 1000 people. All of this gives you the skills employers are looking for.

As JCRs are part of the Union every JCR officer gets free entry to The Sugarhouse once a week.
4. Free hoodie
Who wouldn’t want to wear a County hoodie that screams JCR makes me cool.
5. GuaranTREEd tickets
Forget your degree, one of the hardest things you will do at Uni is trying to get an Extrav or Winterball ticket. As they plan them both JCR members get a guaranteed ticket to these events.
