Central Supermarket

Central is now operating with guidelines to reduce the risk of spreading Coronavirus, protecting both staff and customers. 


  • We will be reducing the number of customers allowed in-store to 5 at any 1 time

  • You will be required to wait at the till point until called forward to be served, respectfully allowing at least a 2-metre safe distance between yourself, members of staff and other customers
  • The store will only be accepting card payments until further notice
  • Please be mindful of others when shopping and only purchase as much as you need



Central has put together essential Food Boxes for any students living on campus. If you're self-isolating or anxious about heading out, there is no need to leave your accommodation to buy food. Get Food Boxes delivered directly to your door. Find out more here.

If you're struggling financially and you are worried about your ability to provide yourself with sufficient food, we're here for you. We have a limited number of emergency provisions (due to national supply chains) for any students in desperate need of food aid. Our Food Boxes will contain essential store cupboard staples (all vegetarian) to help you get through this time.

Our stock is incredibly limited, so please understand that this service is limited and is only for those in need. To order your Food Box please contact the SU Advice team directly on and they will arrange to get it to you. Please also advise at this point if you are self-isolating and if you are in need of sanitary products (including preference: Menstrual Cup/Pads/Tampons).

Our Living housing provider has put together advice and information for it's tenants during this time, which can be found at Living will continue to offer full repairs, maintenance and cleaning services, but please note, the Living office is now operating remotely in line with government guidelines.
