LUSU's Societies and Media Awards
What?
This year we're combining the Media and Society awards into one star-studded event, celebrating all our student societies in one place. Once the winners have been announced, stay and celebrate with live music from Bailrigg FM’s Battle of the Bands – an annual music contest where acts compete to become Band of the Year. Both events will be free to attend and open to all (venue capacity dependent!).
Where?
We’re taking over Barker House Farm in Cartmel for the evening.
When?
The Societies and Media Awards will be held on Saturday 24th June, starting at 5pm. Bailrigg FM’s Battle of the Bands kicks off at 7pm.
How do I nominate a group for an award?
Please nominate groups or individuals using this form.
Eligibility and guidelines:
· Any member of the Lancaster University Community can nominate any group/individual
· You can nominate in as many categories as you wish
· You are allowed to nominate yourself
· Nomination does NOT equal winning: a panel will choose the winner from the nominees
· The more information given, the better!
· Criteria for each of the awards is listed in the nomination form
Nominations will close on Sunday 11th June at, so get nominating!

- Events run by societies, clubs, student groups and colleges may have additional terms and conditions. Please make sure you check your ticket details.
- Unless specified by the organising group, all tickets are non-refundable.
- The right of entry is reserved at all events.
- Breach of conditions or any unacceptable behaviour likely to cause damage, nuisance or injury shall result in the patron being ejected from the premises.
- Unless specified, tickets are sold for an unreserved standing event.
- Tickets cannot be exchanged, transferred or resold for commercial gain.
- The Students’ Union reserves the right to alter or vary the content or timing of the whole or any part of the event due to circumstances beyond reasonable control without being obliged to refund or exchange tickets.
- The Students’ Union cannot take any responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property brought to an event.
- There will be photographers, videographers and live-streaming on site at some Students’ Union events. By purchasing tickets you are accepting that photographs may be taken of you during the event and that these may be released into the public domain; examples of uses include, though are not limited to, publication on the Students’ Union Facebook page, Students’ Union website and our publications.
