Terms and Conditions for the Lancaster African Caribbean Society, Nigerian Society, and East African Society Ball - January 19, 2025

Ticket Purchase: All tickets must be purchased by January 13, 2025. No tickets will be sold after this date.

Arrival and Last Entry: Attendees must arrive on time. The last entry will be strictly at 6:45 PM.

Alcohol Policy: No alcohol may be brought to the venue. Alcohol will be served only to individuals who present valid ID for age verification.

External Plus Ones: External guests (plus ones) must bring identification and complete the registration form that will be provided after ticket purchase.

Dress Code: Adherence to the dress code is mandatory:
- Men: Suits with smart shoes; the only exception to this is all-black Air Force sneakers.
- Women: Floor-length dresses are required.
- Note: No trainers for men will be permitted.

Behavioral Expectations: Attendees must maintain appropriate behavior at all times. Disruptive, offensive, or harmful behavior will result in removal from the venue without a refund.

Emergency Procedures: In the event of an emergency, stewards will guide guests to designated safety areas.

Dietary Restrictions: All allergies and dietary restrictions must be communicated at the time of ticket purchase to ensure accommodations can be made.

Venue Rules: Smoking is prohibited inside the premises. Attendees must comply with all location-specific rules.

Amendments to Terms: The event organisers reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Attendees will be notified of any significant changes.

Event Cancellation and Rescheduling: The event organisers reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the event due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters or severe weather. Refund policies will be communicated in the event of cancellation.

Right of Refusal: The event organisers reserve the right to refuse entry or eject any attendee at their discretion. Security checks may be conducted for safety purposes.

Data Protection: Personal data collected during ticket purchase or registration will be managed in compliance with data protection laws and will only be used for event-related purposes.

Photography and Filming Consent: By attending, you consent to being photographed and filmed, with the understanding that such images and footage may be used for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be included in media coverage, please notify the event organisers in advance.

- Events run by societies, clubs, student groups and colleges may have additional terms and conditions. Please make sure you check your ticket details.
- Unless specified by the organising group, all tickets are non-refundable.
- The right of entry is reserved at all events.
- Breach of conditions or any unacceptable behaviour likely to cause damage, nuisance or injury shall result in the patron being ejected from the premises.
- Unless specified, tickets are sold for an unreserved standing event.
- Tickets cannot be exchanged, transferred or resold for commercial gain.
- The Students’ Union reserves the right to alter or vary the content or timing of the whole or any part of the event due to circumstances beyond reasonable control without being obliged to refund or exchange tickets.
- The Students’ Union cannot take any responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property brought to an event.
- There will be photographers, videographers and live-streaming on site at some Students’ Union events. By purchasing tickets you are accepting that photographs may be taken of you during the event and that these may be released into the public domain; examples of uses include, though are not limited to, publication on the Students’ Union Facebook page, Students’ Union website and our publications.
