Whether you are new to Lancaster or you have lived here for years, we know how important it is to choose the right student accommodation for your next academic year. At SU Living, we manage over 250 student houses and flats in Lancaster. Thus, with our long-standing experience in the rental market, we have designed a guide to make it easier for you to find your next home. Here are a few points to consider when choosing your accommodation in Lancaster.
Price and quality – these are the two main aspects that should be considered prior to looking for the accommodation. Think about what you really need in the house or a flat – is it cheaper price, a large room, free parking or perhaps a cosy living room to hang out with your roommates? Our SU Living service is committed to provide the best value for money for each tenant and in order to accommodate your needs, we make the house-hunting process easy by allowing you to apply search filters on our website.
Lancaster is a city like no other. You can choose whether you prefer to live in the city centre or within the area where the buzz of the city disappears. Bowerham, Primrose and the City Centre areas are the most popular choices among students, followed by Freehold, Fairfield and Scotforth. Whilst Bowerham and the City Centre areas offer a variety of pubs and shops on your doorstep, Primrose, Freehold, Fairfield and Scotforth are great if you fancy more of a relaxing and quiet atmosphere. Lancaster has great transport links all over the city and it takes around 15-25 minutes to reach the heart of Lancaster University campus from each of the mentioned locations.
It is important to choose who are you going to live with during the next academic year while looking for a house. Whether you prefer smaller properties for 3-4 people or larger ones that can accommodate up to 8 tenants, we highly advice to live with someone who is clean, friendly and easy-going. A majority of students choose to live with their friends who they met during the previous academic years. If you are on your own whist looking for accommodation for the next academic year, do not worry – at LUSU Living, we can help you find other students who are looking to team up with you now!
If you need any further information about the house and area, you can pop in to our office near the Deli Café on campus and we can arrange house viewing for you. You might want to talk with current tenants if any questions arise about the house or area. Bear in mind that University is your best friend while looking for accommodation, thus, houses that are checked and approved by Lancaster University Homes offer the highest standards for its tenants.
We all know how complicated the process of finding a house is sometimes. That is why our assistants LUSU Living are working hard to provide you with the best student experience while renting one of our properties. We charge no deposit or administration fees and, most importantly, all bills are included in the rent! Check what we have to offer for your next academic year here.
