By signing this petition you support the lectures that are part of the UCU and are complaining about the impact of the UCU strike action upon your education.

Many students chose this university in large part due to the staff and believe that they are the university's greatest asset. Yet the current proposals to change their pensions could reduce the annual retirement income by £10,000 a year on average.

The universities representatives, having initially proposed the complete elimination of the guaranteed pension, have refused to move at all towards the union’s position. And as a result, 88% of UCU members voted to take strike action.
 
As things stand this university, our university, has alienated its staff and is failing its students.
 
We urge the Vice Chancellor to agree to resume national negotiations with UCU with immediate effect in order to end this damaging dispute and enable us to get the education that we deserve and we have paid for.
