Tickets for the LUBDS Charity Showcase taking place on Sunday 8th March!

It will be a fun evening with a mix of ballroom and Latin dancing, including to songs from the hit musical 'Wicked', performances from other societies and a special Strictly Come Dancing style competition!

All funds raised will go towards two very important charities; Lancaster & District Homeless Action Service and to Beat Eating Disorders

Lancaster & District Homeless Action Service, commonly known as LDHAS, is a charity with over 30 years’ experience, offering essential services to the street homeless and vulnerably housed of Lancaster and surrounding areas. Monday to Friday they provide breakfasts, lunches, shower facilities, a laundry service, access to an in-house general nurse, use of IT, care of address and support navigating bureaucracy. LDHAS also offer a “one stop shop” with visiting agencies attending the centre each day including Citizens Advice, Calico, The Hepatitis C Trust, liver scan nurses, Red Rose Recovery, Changing Futures, drug and alcohol services, an NHS Clinical Psychologist and a Podiatrist. LDHAS do not receive any government funding, relying solely on funding grants and the generosity of the local community.

Beat Eating Disorders: Our helpine exists to encourage and empower people to get help quickly, because we know the sooner someone starts treatment, the greater their chance of recovery. People can contact us online or by phone. We listen to them, help them to understand the illness, and support them to take positive steps towards recovery. We also support family and friends, equipping them with essential skills and advice, so they can help their loved ones recover whilst also looking after their own mental health. And we campaign to increase knowledge among healthcare and other relevant professionals, and for better funding for high-quality treatment, so that when people are brave enough to take vital steps towards recovery, the right help is available to them.
