Green Paperclip Challenge

You are challenged to turn one green paperclip into a significant sum of money for Barnardo’s work with vulnerable children.
You will need all your wits about you to persuade, negotiate and blag your way to turn your paperclip into something amazing.

Where the idea came from:
On 12 July 2005 Canadian blogger Kyle MacDonald decided to trade the red paperclip holding his CV together for something more valuable – he wanted a house. After fourteen trades Kyle did the unthinkable and almost a year later he was holding the deeds to his new home.

How to do it:
It’s easy! We give you a green paperclip, and then you have to bargain, haggle, persuade, cajole, plead and blag to swap your paperclip for bigger and better things!
Make use of all your friends, family, colleagues and social networks and keep trading your items up until you secure something that can be sold for real cash.
You may find it useful to find out more about Barnardo’s in order to talk more enthusiastically and persuasively about the difference that people can make by agreeing to swap their item.
