If there's a good amount of water we're planning to paddle the Lune, it's a grade 2/3 river only around half an hour from Lancaster. This trip is a fun river, that makes you properly feel like you're on an adventure! There's a range of scenery from wide open sections to some fun little 'gorge' sections. Is a good trip to get out on to move onto White Water a bit more! If you've not paddled much expect to swim a bit, we've got a good safety team so don't worry just have fun and push yourself to try something new!

If there's no water here or there is too much, hopefully there's some water elsewhere - we may try to paddle the Leven or Kent or if we're in the area the Lower Rawthey (also grade 2/3) instead... all depends on the water levels.

You must be a paid member to come on this trip.

Please bring:
1. Swimwear
2. A thermal layer to wear under your wetsuit (any kind of synthetic top is fine, just not cotton)

3. A pair of shoes that you can get wet (please no crocks or flipflops, an old pair of trainers is fine)
4. Spare clothes & towel - bring some warm clothes!

5. Food/drink - snacks can go in someone's drybag or BA. Individually packed snacks like penguins are great

6. Waterproof coat (if you've got one as it'll help keep the wind chill off if you fall in)

 

Again, if you need to borrow some of the above kit and have any concerns, just message the club account or one of the exec. Otherwise we'll just sort out kit on the day.

We'll be meeting at the boat house on Sunday (21/01/24) at 8.15am to get kit sorted for everyone. Early start as this can be a longer trip with a big group.

You will be assigned a driver on Friday evening.

Please give at least 24 hours notice if you can't attend a trip, otherwise you will still be required to pay for fuel in the car you are assigned.
 

If we do need to cancel we'll let you know on Friday night latest.
