Defying Dementia Academic talk and Lab tours!

Come and join us on the 15th of November for an academic talk all about the research into dementia that is being studied at our own university! Tickets are free and it's a great way to get insight into the research being done at Lancaster University and learn more about Dementia! There is also a lab tour at the end for anyone wanting to look around!

 

Overview of rough timings;

2.00 pm  - Brief welcome and introductions – Ed Parkin

2.00 pm – 2.10 pm  -  Current DD funded research; ‘Neurexin 1 as a therapeutic target in Alzheimer’s disease’ – Amelia Bryers (PhD)

2.15 pm – 2.25 pm  - Current DD funded research; ‘Cell models for the identification of protective proteins in Alzheimer’s disease’ – Alice Wood (PhD)

2.30 pm – 2.40 pm  - Proposed future project ; ‘Inhibition of phosphodiesterase 4B as a potential therapy for Alzheimer’s disease’ – Neil Dawson and Andrew Fielding

2.45 pm – 2.55 pm  - Kathryn Saban and Sadie Whittam (Lancaster University Law School) and others – ‘Thoughts on combining legal and scientific expertise at the DD shop’.
