ECOWoods with Green Lancaster

Join the Green Lancaster team on an ECOWoods session and take part in hands-on conservation work such as wildflower meadow restoration or trees and saplings TLC.

Green Lancaster is a sustainability initiative supporting students and staff with practical engagement and innovative solutions to the living planet (climate and ecological) emergency. We aim to bring people together and empower our community to advocate the systemic change needed for our society to thrive alongside the challenges faced in the 21st Century.

Green Lancaster’s ECOWoods project is an ecological restoration project on university land that takes place via a year-round programme of activity. Volunteering with ECOWoods offers direct and practical responses to the climate and ecological emergency, as the project restores the local landscape, increases biodiversity, sequesters carbon from the atmosphere and protects against flooding. Get involved and help nature regenerate!

The Green Lancaster team will welcome you at the ECOHub and give you an overview of their core projects as well as ways that you can get involved before getting stuck in with some practical work. No experience required.

Please ensure you are wearing appropriate outdoor footwear and clothing. If you would like to, you will be able to borrow waterproofs and wellies on the day. Gloves and equipment will be provided. You are welcome to bring snacks and a drink with you.

Please contact green@lancaster.ac.uk in advance of the session if you have reduced mobility or accessibility requirements.
