Weekend in Buttermere 19-22/06
We are going to Buttermere on the 19-22/06 Of 2026!
We will be staying in Syke Farm Campsite (https://maps.app.goo.gl/hcuGfMGx9WPiAWEd7). You will need to bring tent/sleeping bag/roll mat, which can be borrowed from the club.
You need to attend the talk that occurs on the 17/06/2026 19:00-20:00 in Furness LT2. This is highly important as it provides crucial information about the trip, including the time you leave campus/town, which vehicle you will travel in and where your sleeping.
Kit list:
- Hiking boots with ankle support.
- Headtorch (& batteries/ charger)
- Suncream
- Insulating layers (At least two warm fleeces/ jackets, + spare)
- Thick socks (at least 2 pairs)
- Waterproof Jacket
- Waterproof overtrousers or salopettes
- Warm hat
- Sun hat
- Gloves - a thin pair (liner), 2 thick pairs
- change of clothes for campsite, Sunday and Monday (as your saturday clothes are likely to be wet)
- shoes to wear around the campsite (trainers, crocs)
- At least one litre of water
- Food and snacks
- Toiletries
- Any personal medication
Compulsory but can be borrowed from the club:
- Sleeping bag
- Roll mat
- Tent space

- thermal flask
- spare headtorch
- drinks and snacks for the evenings

Hiking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. We reserve the right to turn away any member who turns up with inappropriate clothing/equipment. .
