The route is 8 miles (13km) long and will ascend Hellvelyn (950m) via striding edge and descend via swirrel edge.
This is a very popular route and estimated to take 5 hours. We will walk at a steady pace and stay together throughout.
The route requires some light airy scrambling which we'll support and encourage you on.
We're a friendly and inclusive bunch and hope to see you there. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
You must have sturdy footwear such as walking boots (approach shoes are also suitable) and a waterproof coat.
Bring spare warm layers like fleeces as well as gloves and a hat. You'll need a pack lunch, snacks and at least 1L of water.
We will leave campus/ town at 8:30 am and expect to return between 6 and 7pm. Expect to receive an email with more information about the trip a few days before.
This will include exact leaving times, pickup location and recommend kit list. If you have any queries please contact @luhiking club.
