SRT Training Half-day
For all newbies to SRT (how we vertically cave), or those who need a refresher!
We have 6 places for those with no experience, to go up to the YSS hut to do a training session on the wall there. This will give you the basics of SRT use, and will allow you to use it for any of our future caving trips. (8 will be going. 2 leaders and 6 newbies).
SRT allows us to get to, and further into caves which would normally be inacessible. This is through harnessing you to a rope which will hang vertically into a cave or passage, and being able to go both up and down this rope. Once you know the basics, then so many more local caves open up for trips. Check the club Facebook for some examples!
Tickets are set at £8.50, because:
£3 each for acess to the wall
£2 for wear and tear on the ropes/equipment
£3.50 for fuel (if all tickets are booked).
No other costs for this trip.
