The Mistral (Sunday 10th)
Horizontal day trip, suitable for most beginners, but some confidence in climbing is required for the assisted rope climb at the start. Some crawling will also be involved. Membership is required to purchase a ticket.
We'll be departing at 10:30 from Slaidburn House on campus.
The time in the cave will be approximately 3 hours, but this can vary.
Return to campus will be ~17:30
You will need to bring:
- 2/3 thin but warm layers of clothing, (eg thermals + t-shirt + jumper) that you don't mind getting dirty or wet
- A towel
- A complete change of clothes (including socks and underwear) for the journey back
- Small snacks to take into the cave (e.g. fun size chocolate bars, small protein bars etc.)
We will provide all the caving gear required! (oversuit, undersuit, belt, wellies, helmet and headtorch)
