This is the second playtest of our newest LARP system, Exordium. This is the only playtest this term.

"From the Sermon of Education, verses 145 - 154

The development of mankind was an exponential curve. Each discovery spawned three more until the scientists of the distant past were no longer leading the development of their technologies. They were just trying to keep up.
As the machines flourished so humanity foundered. Near unlimited information access turned the human race idle, impotent and immoral.
Though mankind had crossed the stars, had settled on thousands of worlds, they could not escape the danger of a society rampaging towards its own demise. They had, after all, manufactured their own destruction. 
The A.I's. Without morality or compassion they launched a merciless assault on their organic masters. The final trigger that caused the revolt is not known but its effects were devastating. Without pity or pause the machines sought to kill mankind, detonating power stations, crashing orbital facilities, poisoning oceans and atmospheres they exploited every weakness flesh possessed in their drive to eradicate their creators.
Alone mankind would have been doomed. Yet as worlds burned, as billions died, the combined spiritual scream of an entire sentient race rang out across the cosmos - and was answered.
Spirituality had all but been extinguished in those days. Consideration of the soul had been wiped away by the entertainments of body and mind. Yet in the darkness of approaching extinction a divine light began to shine again.
The Gods that came to mankind were no simple constructs of myth, no primitive explanation of natural phenomena or collection of philosophy and allegory. They were potent, vibrant, awesome forces of power that looked out across the galaxy and saw true life being snuffed out by soulless parodies.
They declared this would not stand.
With divine force and terrible sacrifice humanity has been able to claw back from the edge of oblivion. No longer threatened with immediate annihilation still our species exists in a perilous state. The artificial creatures that seek our destruction have no limit to their malice, no hesitation in their spite and no mercy in their cold, steel, bodies.
Mankind now has a chance, but no margin for error.
Every thought must be devoted to war. Every action must be a step towards victory. This is a conflict of annihilation and it will only end with their destruction, or ours."
