Barnardo's Rainbow Run 2026
In close collaboration with Sport Lancaster, Lancaster University Running and Athletics Club brings you the Barnardo's Rainbow Run!
This is a 4km fun run on the Lancaster University campus, with all proceeds going to the Barnardo's Children's Charity.
There will also be a rainbow-themed fancy dress competition on the day with prizes for the best dressed, so make sure to come in your brightest colours!
Our VP, Charlotte, who is fundraising for the London Marathon this year will also be present on the day, accepting donations and talking to you about the amazing work that Barnardo's do! You can find out more about her cause here: Charlotte Ross is fundraising for Barnardo's.
The run will begin on Wednesday 11th March at 1:30 PM with registration starting at 1:00 PM at the Sports Centre.
Parking and toilet facilities will be available on the day - subject to the University parking policy.
The course is fully marshalled and health and safety approved. Please arrive early for registration and a pre-run briefing.
Tickets are ONLY £3.50 and available to purchase below or on the day. Please note that places fill up quickly, so get your tickets before they run out!
This event is for all ages and we encourage everyone to take part!
Whether walking, jogging or running for a PB, it is guaranteed a fun afternoon for everyone!

- Anyone with any pre-existing medical conditions must carry appropriate medication with them on the run.
- Children under 16 must run with an adult.
- The decision whether or not to run is left to the discretion of the individual and they run at their own risk.
- Should the event have to be cancelled, we will try our best to reschedule for the Summer Term - however, no refunds will be given.
- This is not a road-closed event, and you are expected to adhere to the Highway Code and be aware of road hazards en route - marshals will guide you should you get into difficulty.

- There will be photographers, videographers and live-streaming on site at some Students’ Union events.
