The road cycling trip to the lakes is available for up to 16 people stopping at a village hall (High Wray near Hawkshead) hired for the weekend (both Friday and Saturday night). The trip will be week 6 weekend of this term (Friday 24th and Saturday 25th). Their will be the option of either cycling the whole distance from Lancaster or going as one of the groups on the train to Windermere and cycling the final distance (8 miles). Some food will be provided by the club for pasta and pizza nights, supplies for hot drinks and a few breakfast items. Please also bring some addtional food aswell.

LUCC Lakes Trip Kit List:

The time has come for an LUCC Weekend trip away to the Lakes! This is a list of the things we recommend bringing. You’ll either be carrying all your kit on the train or trying to fit it in Barney’s car so try and pack conservatively. Saying that, it is important to have the right things with you, below are some recommendations:

2 sets of cycling kit. Include some extra layers as it can be colder in the lakes than in Lancaster. Waterproof jacket A pair of cycling shoes and helmet 2xInner tubes/ usual bike tools that you’d carry on a ride Bike computer (if you have one) to download the routes Bike lock Bike lights Ride snacks + Water bottle for bike Sleeping bag, mat Set of normal clothes for the evenings Toiletries and medication Drinks for the evenings (Only if you want to, there’s no pressure either way!!) LUCC will be providing food for the 2 evening meals, breakfast both mornings and lunch both days. There will be veggie options and we’ll follow the allergy requirements from the tickets. However, if you’d like something specific then you should bring this yourself.
