Please sign-up here for social and beginners' climbing session at the Sports Centre climbing wall, on Wednesday 2-3pm and 3-4pm (09.11.22).

Please take a social climb ticket if you are signed off as competent at the uni wall and would like to take advantage of the Wednesday afternoon LUMC discount. The reason for these tickets is that the uni wall has a max capacity of 30 climbers per staff member.

Beginners' tickets are for those of you that have never climbed before, or for the people that haven't climbed with ropes for a long time and needs a refresher!

During the session, you will be introduced to the basics of gear, tying into the rope, belaying and how to keep yourself and others safe whilst at the wall. This is all useful for climbing indoor centres and rock-climbing outdoors. After one session, you will probably not be able to climb without supervision; it can take two to three sessions to learn the necessary techniques in order to climb safely independently.

The session is run by exec and experienced LUMC members. You will be expected to pay for your own wall entry; this is free for gold gym membership holders, or costs £3 for a single session. There is no cost for the gear loan.

Please arrive for your session 5min early, so that you can pay for your entry before the session start. If for some reason you can no longer attend your session, let us know so we can offer the place to someone else!
