Description

Welcome to the Lancaster University Mountaineering Club!

Whether it be rock climbing, bouldering, winter climbing, competitions, hiking or more, we do our very best to adventure far and wide! If you already climb, or just fancy giving it a go, then we're the society for you. We're happy to take people of all abilities, and accept new members all year round.

With sessions at the Uni wall, bouldering evenings, and day trips outdoors each week along with regular socials and termly weekend trips, there is more than enough to keep you occupied, just come along and see! Becoming a member lets you borrow gear, get instruction in climbing safely, and most importantly makes you part of the best family at the university!

Typical weekly activities:

Wednesday (2:00-4:00pm) - Beginner Sessions at the Sport Centre

Thursday (6:30pm) - Lancaster Wall

Sunday (3:00-6pm) - Team training at Sport Centre

Weekends - Day trips to Lakes, Dales, Lancashire crags / Twice termly weekend away

To get involved: once you've got your membership, join our facebook LUMC, follow our instagram, and join our whatsapp community from the link in the weekly newsletter!

If you have any questions at all just email the exec or DM our instagram and we will be happy to help.

“The BMC recognises that climbing, hill walking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.”
