Women's+ Sport Trip
**This trip is only open to those who identify as women, non-binary folk, and people of other marginalised genders.** We're running this trip as these genders are often marginalised in outdoor environments due to historical exclusion, lack of representation, and persistent social barriers that can make accessing and feeling safe in these spaces more challenging.
Hello all! This Saturday we will be heading to Rhunestone Slate Quarry for a day of sport climbing! Weather permitting...
This will be ideal for those of you who are keen to become more confident at sport leading outdoors. For this trip there are 'leaders' tickets for those who feel quite happy sport climbing outside (Know how to lead belay and clean an achor), 'comp second' tickets for those who can lead belay, and 'climbers' tickets for anyone, regardless of experience.
We will be leaving from University House at 9am.
KIT:
- There will be a 30 minute walk-in to the crag which will be uneven underfoot and largely uphill, so please bring suitable footwear for this.
- Please bring enough food and water for the whole day: lunch, dinner, snacks and more water than you think.
- Bring extra warm layers for if it gets a bit chilly, especially in the evening.
Weather: We are really hoping to go to Rhunestone however there is currently some rain forecast for Saturday. If we decide it looks to wet to climb we will head to Manchester Depot for a day of indoor lead climbing. We will make a decision on Friday evening and let you all know on the Women's+ WhatsApp groupchat.
Don't forget we have the Women's+ social on the Saturday evening after the trip! You don't need to come on the trip to go to the social if you can't get a ticket!
Tickets will be going live at 8am Wednesday 20th so set your alarms!
