On Saturday 27th January, Lancaster University Wilderness and Emergency Medicine Society (LUWEMS) will be hosting the inaugural North-West Prehospital and Wilderness medicine conference in conjunction with student societies from universities across the North-west region and support from the Faculty of Prehospital Care (FPHC).
In what hopes to be an annual event, this conference is a joint initiative run by student groups from the four major medical schools in the region with the hosting university rotating each year. This first instalment is being hosted at Lancaster University.
The conference will be aimed at students from healthcare and medical backgrounds with an interest in the specialities of Prehospital, Wilderness and Emergency medicine. This day long conference hosted on the 27th January 2024 will include keynote speakers and workshops run by professionals in these specialities. Additionally, we will also be running a poster competition for students to present and showcase any work they have completed in the relevant specialities.
Tickets are on sale now and will include access to all conference activities and talks, lunch, refreshments throughout the day and opportunity to enter the poster competition. Tickets are limited and will be shared between the organising universities of Lancaster, Liverpool, Manchester and UCLAN so are expected to sell out quickly.
