Interested in becoming one of our Part-Time Officers?

The following positions are currently vacant:

  • Women’s+ Officer
  • BME Students’ Officer
  • Students with Disabilities Officer
  • Mature Students’ Officer
  • International Students’ Officer

Part-Time Officers are voluntary roles with responsibility for representing our members on a wide variety of issues.

The vacant positions will be filled this time around through a process called ‘co-option’.

Co-option is the process where PTOs are elected into position by members of the union’s Executive Committee.

We’re doing it this way because last term the SU agreed changes to PTO elections, meaning they will now be elected in Lent Term, alongside our Full-Time Officers. Students co-opted this January will hold the position until the end of the Summer Term, when the new Part-Time and Full-Time Officer teams will start together.

To be co-opted, students need to attend the Executive Committee meeting in Week 2, give a short speech (no longer than a minute) explaining who they are, why they want the role, and what they’d like to achieve. Afterwards, the members of the Executive Committee will hold a vote.

The meeting takes place in the students’ union boardroom (Bowland Main B104) at 1pm on Wednesday January 23.

Find out more about the roles on our website.
