Change to Part-Time Officer election dates

Earlier this term, the Union Executive passed a vote to change the date of election for Part Time Officers (PTOs) from Week 8 of Michaelmas term alongside JCR elections, to Week 8 of Lent term alongside Full Time Officers (FTOs). The proposal was brought forward by our Womens+ Officer and was discussed at a previous Executive Committee before being brought for a digital vote on the final proposal.

One of the reasons given for the change was to enhance the cohesion within the officer team which can often feel disjointed due to the different election dates. It is hoped that the change will allow more collaboration on projects, a unified training programme and an overall improved working relationship between all officers.

This change will take effect immediately, with the current PTO positions being co-opted from Week 8 of this term until the end of Summer Term, when the newly elected Part Time Officers will start in their positions.
