Volunteer Appeal During Virus Outbreak

AN appeal for volunteers to help during the Coronavirus outbreak has been made in Lancaster.

The Lancaster Council for Voluntary Service is providing a number of resources during the emergency, including support and training to ensure safe recruitment, management and activity.

The CVS is working closely with the city council and has extended an invitation to the University and SU members who might be able to help.

There are a wide range of activities that they are looking for volunteer help, as is set out on the form. People can help in areas like IT and admin, catering, cleaning, dropping off and picking up deliveries for people or helping with shopping. You can also suggest your own area of ability or expertise that might be useful, on the form.

The effort is being co-ordinated across Lancaster, Morecambe, Heysham, Carnforth and Silverdale.
