We look back on the Great Green Actions by LUSU Green this term, and look forward to what’s coming up!

It's been a tree-mendous Term 1, here are the highlights...

  • Freshers fun! LUSU Green kick-started term with a packed fresher's week with planting and tours of our rewilding site (Forrest Hills) and the ECOHub. Engaging with hundreds at Fresher’s fair making sustainability pledges.
  • Embracing Autumn and the Harvest season with Gleaning Adventures saving apples and pumpkins in collaboration with Food Futures. Transforming “waste” into delicious meals for students at ECOEats and the community food hub EggCup.
  • Engaging with 800 people with 92 core members taking part in our volunteering, adventures and events. We finished the term celebrating all volunteers and staff championing sustainability here in Lancaster with a Vegan Potluck.
  • 22 Events ranging from a Sewing Repair Cafe to LUMS wellbeing day and World Climate day games.
  • Collaborations with Envision, Academic Reps (Greening your Degree), LUMS with wellbeing activities and supporting the ‘Our Food Futures: Rising Inequality and Climate Change' public lecture.
  • Launching LUSU Swap&Style at our HallowGreen event. Now open in LUSU at the Help Desk Monday-Friday (10:00-16:00)
  • 6 ECOWild sessions enhancing biodiversity on campus from supporting our tree nursery, tree planting, restoring native woodland and woodland management.
  • Adventures exploring Lancaster's wild urban spaces, fruit rescues, saving the pumpkins and peat bog surveys at Wild Garsdale Pike.
