The President is the face of the Students’ Union and heads up the Full Time Officer team. They Chair the Trustee Board, are a governor of Lancaster University, and act as the lead spokesperson with regard to student and political issues. They’re responsible for responding to national student campaigns and strategic University issues, as well as communicating with the Students’ Union Chief Executive on Union staffing, business and operations.

As well as President, they are:

  • Chair of the Trustee Board
  • LUSU Director
  • A Governor of Lancaster University
  • Non-Executive Director of LUSU Services Company and LUSU Housing Ltd.
  • Student representative on University Senate

Big Successes: 

Presenting and standing up for student views to university senior managment, it was a Union President that secured lower rent prices on campus.

The Union President is the lead for the broad development of the Students' Union and is lead spokesperson of the Union with regard to student and political issues. They chair the Trustee Board, liaise with senior university staff, and participate in budgeting and expenditure scrutiny.
