Athletics club host annual Lancaster Athletics Cup

On Saturday March 10 Lancaster University Athletic Club held the 4th annual Lancaster Athletics Cup.

Competitors from Lancaster, Newcastle, Manchester, St Andrews, York, and Uclan came together at Salt Ayre Athletics Track to compete in various track and field events.

Manchester won the cup with 195 points, Lancaster second with 164 points, 3rd going to Newcastle followed by York (48), St Andrews (20), York St. Johns (16) and Uclan (8). 

Highlights for Lancaster included several Personal Bests including a 1.60m high jump and 9.09m Shot Put from Lancasters Miri Luft, Lancs took several wins.  Theo Reeve and Simon Burgess won the A & B races in the 100m Men's. Joshua Ingham, club president won his races in the men's 200 & 400m, Katie Littlefair and Rachel Lever scored 1st and 2nd in the women's 400m. Shane Alleyne won the men's High Jump  and got 2nd in the men's Long Jump, Miri Luft took second in the women's High Jump and Tripple jump and the men’s  4x100 relay won and the the women's relay placed second.
