Lancaster University Students’ Union is yours! We’ve recently changed how we do things to make sure students get more say in how we’re run. As well as electing officers to represent you in every aspect of student life from academic matters to welfare issues, we’ve also made it easier than ever to get your voice heard via the ideas section of our website. If you’ve got a big idea that can benefit our members, we want to hear it!

Your activity groups are at the heart of life at Lancaster. With nearly 300 clubs and societies covering a huge range of sports, activities, hobbies and causes, there really is something for everyone. And if you can’t find the group you want we’ll give you the support you need to set it up. Whether it’s an existing interest something completely new, our clubs and societies are a great way to get the most of out your time at uni.

We’re here to fight your corner and make sure you get all the support you need while you’re at Lancaster.
Each year students elect six Full-Time Officers - the President and five Vice-Presidents - the most senior elected officers in the union. They work directly with the university to make sure your voice is heard and that students have a say in how the institution is run. Other part-time elected student officers cover all aspects of student.
And if things go wrong during your time with us, our advice service is here to help with all aspects of student life – including your course, exams, disciplinaries, budgeting, health & wellbeing, and more.
Each year the undergraduate colleges and the Graduate College elect student representatives to represent them at college level.
The eight Junior Common Room (or JCR) execs and the PG Board are part of the students’ union and a crucial part of the Lancaster experience and we support these groups as they work to bring your college communities to life.
