By bringing together our officers, the student community, and the wider community across Lancaster city, the team will be focused on delivering engaging educational activities across Lancaster University on sustainability. This includes supporting student volunteers and representatives with the mobilisation of student-led projects, action, and campaigns across campus and beyond.
The aim of LUSU Green is to build on the achievements of Green Lancaster, with a team fully based within the students’ union, rather than a hybrid approach representing both LUSU and Lancaster University.
Students will continue to see a diverse range of projects and activities, including a sustainability engagement programme delivered by LUSU under LUSU Green. The students’ union will continue to use the EcoHub which provides a space for agriculture and biodiversity based activities.
Lancaster University will focus on strategically embedding sustainability across the campus and globally; from net-zero targets to research that addresses the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and developing a consistent approach to sustainability in the curriculum.
LUSU Green will launch during this year’s Freshers’ Fair, where you can meet the team at the stall in the LUSU zone. Keep your eyes out for new information, including new webpages and ways to get involved with the initiative on LUSU Green’s refreshed Instagram page.
The new email is: lusugreen@lancaster.ac.uk and we would love to hear from you.
