During Week 8 all Lancaster University students will have the opportunity to vote in two referendums.

The questions will be:

  • Should Lancaster University Students' Union remain a member of the National Union of Students UK?
  • Should Lancaster University Students' Union remain a member of the National Union of Students Charity?

The referendum questions have been written and agreed by the union’s Democracy Committee, following the submission of a paper to Executive Committee.

Students who participate in the referendums will be able to vote ‘Yes’, ‘No’ or ‘Abstain’.

Voting will take place online via the students’ union website from 9am on Wednesday November 25 to 4pm on Friday November 27.

Be part of a campaign group

This will also be an excellent opportunity for you to lead/be a part of a campaign group for either referendum. To do so, please fill in our online form.

You must fill in this form by 4pm on Tuesday November 17. The above forms will be presented to Democracy Committee on Wednesday November 18 to pick a lead for any campaign groups.

The union will make equal resources available to all campaign groups from a central fund.

Campaign groups will be required to produce a manifesto in a form requested by the Democracy Committee. You can find full information about campaigning in our Referendum Byelaw
