An open letter to University Management for Central Supermarket Rent Reduction
This morning, the Full-Time Officers sent the following letter to the Vice-Chancellor, Andy Schofield, on the financial position of the Central Supermarket store.
They had this to say: "We think it is essential to continue serving students on campus, however, this is a difficult ask, given the high costs of the premises that Central operates at. Due to the incredible financial pressure that the Union is under, it is difficult to tolerate our commercial services running at such an incredible loss whilst we struggle to fund other elements of the SU's activity. Nevertheless, the rent reduction we have asked for will only allow us to break even at the end of the year in line with our projected income."
