Parkour has this year has become an official sport and we are lucky to be one of only a handful of universities to have a Parkour and Tricking society! Parkour focuses on efficiently moving through the environment available to you and tricking is using your environment as creatively as possible.

The Parkour and Tricking society (LUPATS) recently went on a trip to Energi Trampoline Park in Preston. George, the President, said “Everyone had great fun and wall to wall trampolines gave us all a good opportunity to perfect our flips. The dodgeball and climbing wall were also great distractions.”

The society provides an opportunity to travel and see your environment through a different perspective as everything around becomes a possible challenge to conquer. Along with Preston LUPATS regularly go to Manchester, Morecambe and Edinburgh with a trip abroad every Easter, recently visiting Prague and a trip to Berlin planned for the upcoming year.

LUPATS always welcomes new members of all abilities, with an exec ready to teach anybody. Members have seen increased coordination, self-discipline and fitness, so if you’re looking to get involved with something brand new then this is a great place to start.

For further details join their Facebook group ‘LUPATS Public’ or drop into one of their sessions.
