The African Caribbean Society is a society who aim to educate and inform students about topics relating to Africa, the Caribbean and the African diaspora as well as to improve the welfare of students who have links to these regions. We celebrate cultures through different events featuring music, comedy, dance, cuisine and art as well as providing educational and career benefits for our members.

We take pride in being one of the largest societies on campus catering to a vast amount of students. We believe in providing a welcoming and inclusive environment regardless of your background.

Our past events have had great success in introducing the aforementioned topics to a wide range of students and the local community. We have the pleasure of hosting a variety of different guest speakers in the past including popular activists, academics and writers such as Akala.

For more details and updates view our Facebook page at, our society account at or our Instagram account @lancasteracs where we’ll keep you posted.

Thank you for taking the time to read about our society, and we at the Lancaster University African Caribbean Society look forward to seeing you soon.
