The Careers Advancement Network Society (CAN Soc) is designed to prepare students to succeed in Intern and Graduate applications by elevating the Lancaster University student voice within the careers space. We do this via our 3 strategic objectives:
1. Raise awareness of career opportunities available to students.
2. Provide students with resources & training for you to succeed in applications.
3. Empower students from all diverse backgrounds with employability.
By working closely with Lancaster Careers and other societies on our two flagship programs - the 'Placement Mentorship Program' and the 'Build Your Careers Initiative', we look to ensure students are equipped to succeed.
The purpose of this structure is to increase participation of Lancaster Students in the running of the society and allow for various ideas to be voiced and therefore wider representation to create inclusive events and resources for the students of Lancaster University.
Therefore, we are a society ‘for the students, by the students.’
Simultaneously, our partnerships with multiple organisations allow students to network with early-careers employers and leading professionals, gaining insight into those industries.
This allows us to develop on the networks established, whilst cultivating that community environment within the Lancaster Careers Space.
The Careers Advancement Network is here to support you in your career endeavours.
So what are you waiting for? No matter your degree discipline, if you have a passion for gaining industry experience or want to find out more about the professional world, this is the society for you!
