Welcome to Lancaster University Futsal Club! For those of you who don't already know, futsal is probably best described as indoor football with more rules. It is 5 a side, the ball is smaller and slightly weighted, and whilst there is a place for all the skills you see in montages on facebook, the game is more about tactics and fitness. The sport is rapidly growing in both the UK and at Lancaster University.
It was only introduced into the Roses competition with York in 2015. In the 18/19 season, we had one of our most successful years ever, winning the league and beating York at Roses for 4 points and our first win for the club in this tournament. Our first year back post covid proved to be succesful, we finished 2nd in the league. However, we want to push on now and with a very ambitious squad full of quality, our intention is to bring the league home. We are going to be having trials in October to recruit new team members.
