Description

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art with an emphasis on flexibility and kicks. We teach traditional Taekwondo as well as street self-defence against a variety of techniques (including knife attacks), fitness, Olympic-style sparring, and much more. There is an optional grading test at the end of every term, allowing you to progress through the belt system. You could be approaching black belt by graduation!

Joining Taekwondo is a great opportunity and a relaxed environment to build self-confidence, get in shape, learn how to defend yourself and meet new friends. We compete round the county against universities across the UK which is a great opportunity to test your skills and make friends with other taekwondo practitioners! We have regular socials such as meals, cinema trips and an annual Mario Kart competition.

No prior martial arts experience is needed - we actively encourage complete beginners to join! We have sessions led every Wednesday evening by professional instructor: Sam Ellison 4th Dan and 1st Dan in kickboxing, as well as exec-run sessions on Sunday afternoons to complement these.

Training Times:

Give it a go (for free!) Monday 9th October 6pm - 8pm in George Fox Foyer.

Monday 6pm-8pm (George Fox Foyer- with: Our black belts and Sam Ellison 4th Dan in Taekwondo and 1st Dan in kickboxing)

Wednesday 8pm-10pm (County South- session for those interested in getting in extra training for competitions)

Saturday 2pm-4pm (George Fox Foyer - FREE Student/Exec run session)

Please wear clothes you would feel comfortable exercising normally in, as we will be doing a lot of leg stretching and kicking - however, you can also buy a dobok (uniform) from Sam at student price.
