Been here for a year now and have not seen any sort of representation events like Asian Lives Matter when on the daily I get questions like "Are you from China?" or other racially motivated questions that treat all asians as a homogenous block of people that come from China. It is embarassing to be facing this on a daily basis and when all anybody wants is to be treated like a normal person. And if there is no awareness, there is no incentive to change. If the student's union truly wants to represent students and help them have a voice, Im sure that also includes having asian students like myself to have one too. Students who look like me are sick and tired of these questions and assumptions and to have that exist in the twenty first century is just humilating.
