Eggcup Warehouse Volunteer

Details Hide[-]

Everyone who volunteers with Eggcup in our central warehouse is part of a fantastic team of people who, quite literally, make this organisation happen.

Our volunteers are essential to helping us make sure our warehouse is safe, clean, and a friendly place for our Members to visit. You'll have the opportunity to learn all about surplus food and where it comes from, and transform that food from a big pile of surplus into something our Members can use with ease. You'll learn how to use our inventory system to check the food in and out, how to weigh and store it properly in line with food safety regulations, and help with distributing it out to our Membership.

There's so much to do that if anything really doesn't appeal to you, we can absolutely tailor your volunteering experience to what suits you and your needs.

While we do want to invite everyone in our community to work with us, this opportunity is probably not accessible to wheelchair users or those with mobility restrictions. If you'd like to join us but you have concerns about this, please have a look at the other opportunities we have available, or get in touch with us directly, and a member of staff will happily chat about your situation with you.

No experience is necessary, and no specific skills are required - we will provide all the training you need. We do assume basic literacy and numeracy, as well as at least conversational English, but these skills are not necessary for anyone wishing to work with us.

Volunteering with Eggcup is a fantastic opportunity to learn how the food industry works and gain experience for your CV, or just to meet new people and get involved with your community!
