As of today, you can apply to be one of the student trustees of the Students’ Union!
This is an exciting opportunity for you to have a direct say on how your SU is run, while also building a range of unique and attractive skills to help you stand out in the next step of your career.
Lancaster University Students’ Union is a registered charity, which means it is overseen by a Board of Trustees. The Trustee Board is responsible for the Union’s governance, finances and strategy, and ensuring the Union acts in accordance with its charitable objects and appropriate regulations.
We are looking for people who can bring a passion for the work of the SU and a range of specialist skills and knowledge. Whilst it would be beneficial for student trustees to have particular skills or experience related to the requirements of trusteeship, it is not essential.
Student trustees will also bring their lived experience as current students and members of our Union. All training necessary to undertake the role will be provided, and the Trustee Board has a programme of continuous development to ensure that all trustees are able to contribute effectively and benefit personally and professionally from their time in the role.
We are currently looking for one undergraduate student and one postgraduate research student and particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic and international students.
Applications close 12pm 18 September, for any support with your application or general enquiries please email su.governance@lancaster.ac.uk.
Anything else, please direct to India Ellis President at su.president@lancaster.ac.uk or Misbah Ashraf CEO at misbah.ashraf@lancaster.ac.uk
