In December, the current Liberation & Campaign Officers met to agree and discuss the need to review the roles and responsibilities of the LCO positions. At the meeting it was agreed that Lent Term elections for LCO posts should be paused to allow everyone time to thoroughly review their respective roles and provision in their Forums.
It was agreed that:
• elections for all LCO positions should be postponed to the Summer Term,
• the first focus of the review will be to the strengthening of liberation communities,
• the review of each role and forum will follow slightly different objectives and schedules to allow the development of solutions bespoke to their individual circumstances, and
• reviews should be complete before the Summer Term to allow adequate time to enact elections before the end of the academic year.
Over the Christmas break, the pause to LCO elections was discussed and approved by both Democracy Committee and Union Assembly.
