Chemistry PhD student Patch Heasman is running 8 half marathons in memory of the 8 weeks that his daughter, Carys, was with him and her mother Megan.
Raising awareness for the charity Bliss, a charity that supports babies in neonatal care, Patch is well on track to completing the 8 halves, having finished the Hull, Fleetwood, and Warrington half marathons already, and took on the Greater Manchester Half Marathon on October 15.
His main focus, other than completing the half marathons, is making people aware of Bliss and what they stand for, “I’m doing this to raise awareness for babies born prematurely, with any donations going to Bliss… and having been through a rather difficult 2 years (Carys’ 2nd birthday was on October 5th), it’s one of the few ways I can give back, and make sure I’m doing something for Carys.”
