Call for Amendments to AGM Motion

All students are invited to help set Union policy at our Annual General Meeting 2026.

 

 

This year, one motion has been submitted “Referendum on disaffiliation from NUS UK”. We are now inviting students to submit amendments to the motion.

How to Submit an Amendment

If you would like to propose an amendment to the motion, please email su.governance@lancaster.ac.uk before 3pm on Friday 5th June 2026. 



Key Info About the AGM 2026

When: 3pm, Tuesday 16th June 2026 (Week 29)

Where: Faraday Lt

Who can come: the AGM is open to all members of LUSU (all Lancaster University students). Please bring your student ID to verify your membership.

Who can vote: all members of LUSU are invited to attend the AGM and vote on the motions.
 


Voting

All members of the Students’ Union (Lancaster University students) are eligible to vote to approve all items on the agenda (bar the Union Assembly minutes).

For motions to be approved as LUSU policy 2% of the student population must be present. This equates to 320 members. For the accounts and affiliations to be approved at least 150 members must be present.

For the avoidance of doubt, none of the motions proposed represent official policy of the Students’ Union until they have been approved with the required participation at the AGM and ratified by the Trustee Board.
 


Attending the AGM

The AGM is open to all members of the Students’ Union in-person or online.

If you would like to come in-person, it is due to take place in Faraday LTPlease remember to bring your student ID to verify your Students’ Union membership.

If you are unavailable, you can arrange for a fellow member of the Students’ Union to vote on your behalf. You can apply for a proxy here. (deadline: 3pm, Monday 15th June).
