On Wednesday week 8, 4 Lancaster teams travelled to York for the BUCS Conference Cup Final.

Women’s Water Polo, Squash and Fencing along with Men’s Basketball made their way across the Pennines to compete for the cup, playing in the venues they will soon be competing in for Roses 2017.

Women’s Water Polo finished 11-6 against Chester to bring home the win and are feeling pretty confident about Roses.

Fencing took a solid win against Durham with 135-57 which sees them undefeated this year. Squash just lost out to Sheffield 3-1. Men’s Basketball also took second in the arena that will see them open Roses 2017 in just a few week.

Vice President Activities, Jack Walker says, “It was fantastic to see 4 teams make it to the final, especially 3 women’s teams, 2 of which coming away with gold on International women’s day. This really does a lot to showcase Women in Sport. It was also great to be able to test out the ground before Roses 2017.”
