Lancaster University Boat Club (LUBC) were the lucky recipients of a defibrillator courtesy of the North West Ambulance Service & they are now working hard to get it properly installed

Such an impressive piece of medical kit requires and an equally impressive storage facility. Defibrillators require specialist storage to protect the equipment from the elements and ensure the life-saving equipment's functionality. Health and Safety Officer, Alex Nisbett has been leading the efforts to raise funds for a cabinet, reaching out to national and local bodies for help, including the students' union. VP Sport, Paul McCarthy managed to secure some financial support, helping LUBC get closer to their target.

VP Sport, Paul said: "It's fantastic to see the amount of work put in by the Boat Club exec towards this really important cause, I'm pleased we could find some funds in the SU safety budget to help towards the target, even in such difficult financial times!".

Health and Safety Officer, Alex said: "Having spent a lot of time and effort on this project, we were thrilled to be in receipt of the union's contribution".

LUBC are very close to their target amount and are still fundraising. If you'd like to help them out or make a donation please get in touch with Sebastian Hiller (Boat Club Captain) or Alex Nisbett (Health and Safety Officer).
