'Don't Ditch It! Donate it’ is our bespoke end-of-year household goods re-use programme, helping to build a more circular economy here at Lancaster.

 

Now in its eleventh(!) year, the Don't Ditch It Donate It project gives students the space to donate unwanted items during the move out period so that they can be repurposed. Hundreds of tonnes have been diverted from landfill to local charities, community groups and fellow students over the years, helping to create a more circular economy and reduce waste. 

The continuation of the project in 2020 despite all odd's is a testament to how important the project is for waste reduction and the students' unions commitment to sustainability. If you're moving out of your on-campus accommodation and have any items that you no longer need and don't wish to transport all the way home with you, donate them!

 

♻️ You can deposit any unwanted items at college donation points. The donation points can be found at:

• Bowland Avenue East (adjacent to the Chaplaincy Centre)
• Furness Avenue
• Pendle Avenue
• Alexandra Park Boulevard

🌎 We accept almost all items so that you can move out as easily and quickly as possible:

• Books, CD's & stationary
• Bedding, clothing, shoes & coat hangers
• Electrical items
• Kitchenware
• Sealed non-perishable food, packets or tins

✖️ There are some things we can't take due to infectious hazards:

• NO Open food packages 
• NO Open hygiene products
• NO Open cosmetic products 
• NO General waste
