Congratulated on their quality and depth of research by the judges the team, which also had members of Lonsdale and Pendle College, won on the feasibility of the idea and took home £750 and a trophy for the college.

Runners up were Pendle College who pitched bringing a plastic recycling plant here on campus with their idea ‘precious plastics’.

Now in its third year, previous projects to come out of the challenge have seen positive change being made on campus such as the Community Fridge.

The judges were Professor Gordon Walker, Director of the Demand Research Centre; Paul Morris, Director of Estates; Ellie Wills, student responsible for running of the Students’ Union’s ‘Student Switch Off’ project. The winners were presented their trophy by Professor Phil Barker, Director of Lancaster Environment Centre.
