The Students’ Union would like to formally thank External Trustee and Vice Chair Graeme Osborn for his dedication to the Union and students

Graeme joined the Trustee Board in 2014, and took on the role of Chair of Governance Sub-committee in 2018 before becoming Vice Chair of the Trustee Board in 2019.

Oliver Robinson, Chair of the Trustee Board and President of the Students’ Union said: “The Trustee Board thanks Graeme for his long service to the Union. His experience in Students’ Unions have added a great deal of value to the Board, and his insights will not be easily replaced. On behalf of the entire Board, I wish him the very best for the future of his career.”

Graeme has given large amounts of his time to the efforts to defend the Union from the threats and challenges it has faced. His advice has been critical, and he has supported Lancaster SU through all the difficulties and challenges we have faced. His term ended with a challenging year due to COVID in which he dedicated significant amounts of his own time to the Union for which we are incredibly grateful.

His approach has been collaborative and professional. He has always put student first in decision making and has been a model trustee. The Union is indebted to him and we will miss him in his role as Vice Chair.

The Union is delighted to announce that Graeme has been appointed Expert Committee Member of Governance Sub-Committee. With the Democracy and Governance Review in motion, the Union is grateful that Graeme has agreed to continue working with the Union at a time when our governance is a significant priority of our membership.

Amanda Chetwynd has agreed to take up the post of Vice Chair until an appointment can be made. The Union is currently searching for External Trustees to join our Trustee Board.
