This academic year your union has been conducting a review of its democratic processes and governance structures.
Working with external consultants, we have consulted with students and officers and taken into account policy approved at the 2019 union Annual General Meeting to develop new proposals.
A referendum will take place next term to give all students the chance to have a say on whether to adopt the proposed new Articles of Association.
Now's your chance to give your feedback on the first draft of the proposals before a final version is confirmed for the referendum.
SU President Oliver Robinson said: "The Union's governance has not been fit for purpose for some time, shutting too many students out. We need our Union to be more student-facing and student-focused."
"These proposals seek to open up and renew our Union. These drafts will be coming before you for approval next term, but it's important that our members have the chance to engage with them before that point."
"Only together can we carry out the democratic renewal of our Union."
